Most shops run on an old Windows billing program and a notebook, and keep the compliance side in their head. That works until it doesn't. Paz keeps the whole trading day in one place.

Every piece carries a barcode tag with weight, purity and HUID. Bulk metal and the old-gold bin are tracked in grams. You always know what metal you hold and what it is worth today.
Issue pieces to each counter in the morning, count them back at night. Anything not returned and not sold is flagged the same evening, not discovered at stock-taking.
Cash by denomination against what the system expects. UPI, card and bank totals. Metal position in grams by purity. Then the day locks, and nothing can be back-dated into it.
The six-digit HUID is stored on the piece and printed on the customer's bill, exactly as BIS requires. No separate register, nothing to scramble for when an inspector visits.
The system prompts for PAN above two lakh and refuses cash at the legal limit before the mistake happens. Bills can be cancelled with a reason, never quietly deleted.
Auditors differ on how GST applies when old gold is exchanged: some charge on the full bill, some on the value after the exchange is deducted. Paz supports both. You set it once with your auditor, every bill follows it, and each invoice records which method it used.
At quarter end, download the GSTR-1 sheets your CA files from: B2B, B2CS, HSN summary and the document register, straight out of the software.
